Congratulations to the entire Barrett team for achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification from global registrar NQA!
Headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Barrett Firearms Manufacturing is a world leader in large-caliber rifle design and manufacturing. It was founded in 1982 by Ronnie Barrett, who invented the first shoulder-fired .50 caliber rifle.
Their products are used by military organizations, law enforcement agencies, and competitive shooters around the world. The United States Army recognized the Barrett .50-caliber M107 rifle as one of the “Top Ten Greatest Inventions” for the soldiers in performing their mission. Chosen by the soldiers, this was the first time in history a small arm received this honor.
In 2007, Inc. Magazine named Barrett as one of the fastest-growing privately-owned companies in America. One of the reasons for their success is that Barrett employees take great pride in thinking outside the box and exploring ways to continually improve and exceed customers’ expectations. That corporate leadership and culture recognized how becoming ISO 9001 certified would enhance those core concepts. But meeting the minimum ISO 9001 requirements was not enough. Barrett had to have a world-class quality system, even incorporating many automotive and aerospace requirements.
Four simpleQuE consultants worked with Barrett to prepare them for ISO 9001 certification –providing training, internal auditing, FMEA facilitation and training, and documentation to meet ISO and NATO requirements for quality systems.
