Greg Spencer

Consultant & Auditor

For almost 20 years, Greg has been a quality and productivity improvement consultant and auditor. He is an American Society for Quality – Certified Quality Auditor and RABQSA Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, performing audits for certification bodies. An engineering professional with 26 years of practical experience encompassing quality assurance and manufacturing method process improvements, Greg brings the consulting, auditing, training, and quality system implementation experience for a wide range of industries.

Work Experience

He has extensive experience with ISO/TS/IATF 16949® and the related aspects of PPAP, FMEA, APQP and control plan methodology, MSA, SPC and ISO 9001. Other experience includes facilitating, implementing and/or training relative to various quality management system standards including ISO 14001, ISO 13485 (CFR 820/CGMP), ISO 17025, and AS9100. Additional experience has been gained in implementing and/or training on Lean initiatives such as Design of Experiments, 5S, Kanban, SMED, TPM, Mistake Proofing, Continual Improvement, 8D and Root Cause Analysis Problem Solving, including AIAG CQI-8, 9, 12, 15 & 23. An adjunct Professor at Milwaukee School of Engineering – Milwaukee, WI and Indiana-Purdue – Fort Wayne, IN, he is also certified to conduct the ISO 9001 Lead Assessor course through Moody Registrar.

Automotive

Greg held executive quality management and engineering positions with DURA Automotive (Formerly Atwood Automotive), Belmont Steel and Kester Solder. While at DURA Automotive he was involved with processes that include stamping, welding, plating, e-coat, painting, assembly and heat-treating. He is also an owner of a German automotive repair facility.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Illinois, with an emphasis on metallurgical investigative methods, deformation processing, and design use of materials.
